this song was recorded for the record itself, with a full string section, and battled against "another year" for a while for the last song slot. i'll never know whether i made the right decision or not. but i love this tune. this song was recorded around the same time i was making the record, but at home in boston, in my bedroom on the night that noah came over and helped me set up garage band and a small mixing board next to my piano. it's the only song i've recorded at home, because the minute i came back to town and things were unplugged, i couldn't remember how to set the fucking thing up again.
My guitarist/synthist & horn arranger/conductor Chad Raines just put out an album. If you've seen us on tour, you know this: The sweet sounds of THE SIMPLE PLEASURE will make you dance your ass off!! Amanda Palmer
Kim and I go way back. She's played shows with me all over the world, and I was on a 7" record she Kickstarter'd a few years ago. Her new album is an electro-space-pop love letter to the cosmos. Amanda Palmer

My best friend from high school introduced me to Evelyn Evelyn. They now live across the country. Listening to this makes me think of all the times we sang Elephant Elephant together at the top of our lungs in their car. We really like elephants. nicroth1220
